In second grade, students have Spanish once a week for 30 minutes. Students are exposed to the language through basic conversations, songs and vocabulary. Students will be encouraged to participate in class through games and role play by acting out children’s books in Spanish. Students will also review vocabulary learned in previous years and will start using Silabario to teach pronunciation, an authentic Spanish text used to teach reading in Spain and Latin American countries.
